I am not extraordinary nor am I useless. I am not famous or infamous, weak or strong. I have never discovered anything new. I have never done yoga or had spaghetti tacos. I have never made someone cry, nor was I blessed with comedic timing. I have neither laughed at misfortune nor tempted fate. I am not a saint, and I am not the devil.
My name is Lauren D. I am a 14-year-old high school freshman. It’s hard to explain high school sometimes, but it’s definitely an adventure. It’s so different from middle school and very different from elementary school. Everyone here is so nice, even some of the upper-classman. I don’t think there’s a time when I’m not smiling at this school and in all my classes, maybe not PE.
My goal this year for academics is to get at least an A in honors English, not to say that I don't want an A in my other classes. I also want to focus at the YMCA this year since I have been scrawny and weak for far too long. Another goal for

school would be to organize a system to do my homework more efficiently without procrastinating.
As far as goals outside of the classroom, I really want to make sure I have enough time to hang out with all my friends and family. I would love to meet people who will teach me about the world and how it thinks. I also hope to become better at soccer throughout my years in high school. I hope to graduate from UCSB or some other college that offers an excellent psychology program so I can become a child psychologist.
